Richard Conway

Legal Advisor

Richard has 30 years experience as a legal adviser in the IT sector and has held senior legal positions in private practice as well as in industry.

He spent 7 years as General Counsel & Company Secretary at Acorn Group PLC, the UK public company that co-founded ARM Holdings PLC. He was closely involved in the highly successful ARM flotation in order to protect the interests of Acorn as major shareholder.

Richard then became part of the small MBO team that negotiated an agreed bid by Morgan Stanley Dean Witter to acquire Acorn and subsequently, following a complex series of transactions to re-organise and dispose of Acorn’s operational business assets, formed Element 14 Inc. which after raising venture finance from several high profile investors acquired Acorn’s silicon design IP from Morgan Stanley.

As General Counsel at Element 14, Richard was responsible for all legal affairs of the start-up company which very quickly created a successful fabless DSL semiconductor business and attracted high profile suitors. Within 18 months Richard and his co-founders had sold the company to Broadcom Corporation. Richard then spent 2 years as Broadcom’s European Counsel before joining Radioscape as General Counsel.
